Lovely tree line street

Nice relaxing drive down this tree lined street and could imagine it would be very enjoyable walking it as well. Droe down as part of hop on hop off bus trip.

It is CENTRAL to Berlin, the Tiergarten, the Bundestag, the Victory column etc. You could spend a whole day around that area and just meander around and enjoy....

This one starts at the Brandebourg gate and goes Eastward. There are plenty of impressive buildings on both side and at the end, you'll see a very beautiful bridge. Too bad that different cranes spoil the scenery. One genreral advice for Berlin : you won't see so many bars, pubs and coffee places. Consequently, when you see one, don't be... More

We walked down the historic Unter den Linden from Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate) to Museum Island. There is much to see along or near this iconic boulevard (note: construction is ongoing) such as the Zeughaus (armoury), opera house and the Berlin Cathedral. Additionally, the museums on Museum Island are world class (don't miss the Pergamon).

The tourists who would like to walk and explore the old streets of berlin. Covered with lush green trees and historic sights all along the street is the main attraction.

I walked down Unter den Linden on a Friday night on my way to Brandenburg Gate. I hadn't been here in years and remember its past as the showplace of the DDR. You certainly don't think of the DDR walking down this street today. The buildings looked great with modern structures mixing well with the traditional.

It's green and romantic, but a bit wild and not well maintained. Also, I wouldn't walk there at night

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
