Beautiful place

Brandenburg Gate is a must seen place, i suggest to go early in the morning or at the night as in general can be overcrowded.

When you look at this piece of architecture, you can't help but feel the history if this great city. Close to the Seat of Government this landmark is near to many other major monuments, cafes and bars.

Such a strong statement of architecture and symbol of peace. When we arrived, there was an anti Trump rally and a farmers protest with a rock band playing behind the structure. Nevertheless the Brandenburg Gate is an iconic, enormous structure and worth seeing.

Icon but for me there is too much crowd. Most of people visit Berlin for this, there is way more to explore and learn about! Nothing much to say, it's clean and well preserved.

Really enjoyed seeing the gate at sunset. It draws many visitors but was not too crowded in March. It was cold in the evening, wrap up well to stand and enjoy this marvel. It is easily accessed by train.

Went during a crisp clear day. Very great memorable area. There is a free Berlin tour that meets up at this location.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
