The Botanical Gardens have been transformed into a magnificent Christmas lights display. Tickets can be purchased online and are timed entry. Substantial walking required. It takes about an hour to walk the full tour route. Food and beverage stations are spread throughout the grounds.

... neglected impression to me. It begins with the un-availability of a flyer for a fall walk through the garden - it was written up in the newspaper, but there was just none available... THAT is POOR SERVICE! In addition, some building just look really...More

A lovely place, easily reached by train and a short pleasant walk. Great place to stroll around the gardens, inside exhibits and have a cool drink. Nice on a Sunday, when shops and some other attractions are not always open on a Sunday.

I went here with a local on a Friday and we had a whistlestop visit as only 1.5hrs free. It was well worth it, though, getting to see most of the greenhouses, some of the forest, roses, etc. The gardens/greenhouses were very well laid out...More

This garden was fairly easy to access on public transport. We spent about 3 hours pottering round looking at the various horticultural sights. There were interesting greenhouses, Japanese area with pagoda and beautiful sculpted gardens. Lovely way to pass a few hours.

I loved this place so much, not only because I'm an absolute plant freak but the fact thatvit was so so so relaxing, I didn't get to see the museum or cover the whole ground. But I totally recommend coming here more than once

At least a vouple of hours. Depends on weather and on how much you are interested in botanics. The glasshouses are definitely worth visiting, since they are the largest in Europe. The park outdoor is also huge. We spend... More
