The exhibits are less when compared to London, however there were some German celebrities which were not there in London.

Dear Varadhara, Thank you very much for writing about your stay in our attraction! You are absolutely right, the Madame Tussauds in London is bigger. Marie Tussaud herself opened it up in 1835 and we have only been around since 2008, starting out with only 80 wax figures. We have now grown to over 125 figures and are currently visited... More

The exhibition is quite small. I think Madame Tussauds in London is slightly bigger. Here you can find some German celebrities, which might be unknown for the foreign tourists. Of course, there also are world-wide famous faces. You might like it only if you have a lifetime dream to meet some kind of a celebrity and take a picture with... More

Dear Aušrinė J, Thank you for taking the time to write about your Madame Tussauds experience! We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay as much as we’d like you to. It is true that the Madame Tussauds in London is bigger, it opened its door in 1835 and back then was operated by Marie Tussaud... More

Over all it was very good. My friend's and I visited in June 2016. It is cheaper to book online and you can also purchase combo deals for other attractions. We really enjoyed it

I didn't find the wax figures of the known celebrities very life like and managed to make a guessing game out of this (scores across the board were very low!) I was enjoying reading the plaques next to the German celebrities to find out about them until I kept getting pushed out of the way for selfies. The place was... More

Dear MissLucy89, First of all thank you for taking the time to write about your experience! We are very sorry to hear that your stay here didn’t meet your expectations. This will sound really ignorant- but I hardly knew any of the german people who were waxworks. Was a good way to learn about them, right enough! I loved seeing Einstein and Freud! The celebrities were a bit hit and miss. For example, George Clooney was spot on, but David Beckham had ginger hair! Just a tad off. Lots of... More

Dear Lynsey H, Thank you very much for your review here on tripadvisor! Every Madame Tussauds attraction displays local personalities as well as international celebrities, it is important to us to make sure everyone is informed about the person stood in front of them which is why we have descriptions of each wax figure in German and English. There must... More

My friend and I decided to do Madame Tussaud's after enjoying the one in New York, we found this Madame Tussaud's much more enjoyable, the amount of interactions available with the waxworks is really good for example you can stand on a pavement with Marilyn Monroe with a blonde wig and dress! Really great exhibit!

The wax figures here weren't as accurate as I expected although they did have a better variety of celebrities I knew as a Brit than I thought they would. I was baffled by the wax figure of Hitler though as you weren't allowed to take pictures and it was behind a window out of respect so he seemed a bit... More

Dear Kaitlin W, Thanks for taking the time to write about your experience here at the Madame Tussauds Berlin. Fantastic to hear that most of our 130 wax figures did meet your expectations and that the variety we do show even exaggerated it. Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
