Be ready to meet several dozens celebrities one after another. You absolutely allowed to shoot pictures with all statues!! Make sure you set a proper exposure on your smartphone, while you take pictures, it's a museum and you need to take into account its specific lighting.

Surely must see in Berlin! Celebrities made from wax in such a good quality I am pretty sure they look almost identical with the real ones. As there are often many visitors coming expect queue the entrance. But in fact recommend to buy the combined ticket including several popular places to be visited at once. Worth to see that!

Somehow it is a "must be done" thing to visit Madame Tussauds. I went with my teenage boy and the visit gave us the possibility to talk about famous names throughout history, like Bach, Freud but also Obama, Gorbatschow and even Hitler. To be honest we both preferred the first part of the exhibition and walked faster through the part... More

We bought a discount ticket for two attraction. When we went to go to the dungeon the followingday, which was our last, we couldn't get in because it was full. We had to go to the trouble of going back to Madame Tussauds to get a refund. Be careful of this as it is a nuisance! Madame Tussauds itself has... More

It is a thrilling experiece as one can meet most world leaders, sportstars, popstars, scientist and philosophers in the form of wax statues. You can pose with them for photo and video shoot. The statues are real life like. Though the collection is not so big it is worth visiting.

...what do you do with a 12 year old in Berlin that is tired of museums? Yes, Madame Tussaud (again, like in many other cities)... A lot to see, some really good figures, some not so much, but great for children entertainment.

I would say that it is kind of true, the museum is a bit short. But the time you spend there it's really intense! You can become everything you want, especially if you visit at an hour (or in a day) when it's not crowded. You can play the piano like Beethoven, let Dr. Freud do psychoanalysis on you, play... Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
