We absolutely loved walking and S-Bahning through Berlin with Jeremy. It was a wonderful way to get oriented to the city on our first day and, even though we had flown all night, Jeremy's energy was infectious. He is knowledgable, enthusiastic, patient, and a lot of fun to hang out with. Four very enthusiastic thumbs up from our group!

Thanks to Jeremy Minsberg, a short visit of six hours in Berlin turned out to be a highlight. He is an American now living in Berlin with a deep knowledge of the city, its complex history and special character. Our tour was tailored to our special interest in “Jewish Berlin” – past and present. Jeremy had a tight, well-organized itinerary... More

Jeremy's tour was the highlight of our 3 1/2 day trip to Berlin. In a 6-hour walking tour, he showed us the significant Jewish sites, the geography of Berlin in the Cold War, the important WWII era buildings of interest, and most of the major places that tourists want to see. Along the way, Jeremy gave us a sense of... More

We looked forward to taking a specialized walking tour of Berlin with so-called "expert" Jeremy Minsberg. We had specifically requested that the tour focus on Gay and Jewish history as well as architecture. Although we hit many of the must see Mitte sites such as the Holocaust memorial, we hardly did any history of Gay berlin and very little Jewish... More

I always strive to make sure that my clients are very happy during the tour, and indeed always try to ask several times if my clients are satisfied with what we are doing, because it is always possible to be flexible and to change the itinerary, even in the middle of a tour. I was very saddened to get this... More

A good tour. Our guide had tremendous knowledge of the history of Berlin. The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe still sticks in my mind. A tour I would recommend.

To begin I want state emphatically all the positive reviews of Jeremy really do not give him enough admiration. He is even better in person than his reviews – and I know that is saying a lot as all his reviews are glowing. I have now had the pleasure and honor of doing two tours with Jeremy. When I first... Our Guide was an American born expert tour guide, with tremendous knowledge of Berlin and the history of the city, mostly concentration on after WW11. It was a rainy day in Berlin and it was difficult for me to hear him clearly as we walked in a group of 4 and I felt he talked too rapidly for me. I... More

We were recommended to use Jermey via a friend of a friend, and were very pleased with the tour and experience. We walked around the city and got a great feel for everything. We actually shared the tour with another couple in order to save cost and ended up having dinner with them - new friends, new city! Book in... More

When planning our trip to Berlin, Jeremy Minsberg had great reviews. So, we booked him for our Berlin tour, and we have to say our city tour with him more than met our expectations. Jeremy was a wealth of information, and the walking tour with him is definitely the best way to see and learn about the city. We saw... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
