For me, it´s the most impressive part of the palace. You don´t get to see it form the outside, since a corridor connects it directly with the palace. You have to follow the arrow signs and I´m afraid some visitor might miss it, if they´re...More

This is a must see.......especially if you're visiting the Residence anyways, even if not. The level of detail and beauty is awe inspiring. You will not be disappointed. It's my personal favorite..... There is delicious cafe right next to the chapel......as an added bonus.

It is a king's private chapel. The gold, the painting, and ceiling, and the sculptures.... all representing and showing a king's glory and power. A bishop had his private chapel, what a history!

This Chapel was completed in typically Baroque Style. Complicated, highly decorated, with frescoes, stucco decorations and figures and columns. A Masterpiece with flowing curves, lots of movement and ornate decorations. Look for the many Putti...chubby male children. Unfortunately, photos were prohibited in this area.

Severely damaged in the war, the church at the Residence is restored to all its Baroque majesty. This is a place to wonder and marvel at.

Different from the main part of the Residence, Hofkirche don't ask entrance fee. But this don't mean, it is less special. It is a coequal part of the ensemble, like the garden, too.

After years of restoration the court church is now open - and my jaw dropped when I entered it. It is so concentrated with art that you are overwhelmed. Unlike other amazing churches throughout Europe, rather than impresding you with scale and specific items, it...More

Not to be missed, obviously! One the most beautiful (private) churches you'll come across. However, it bore in me the feeling of indignation as I became aware of its history. An awe-inspiring dimension of great sums of money having gone to waste in history...but now...More
