This is obviously one of the must see attractions of Wurzburg, right in front of the Residenz. Judging by the number of tourists one of the most photographed landmarks of the city.

This is the fountain at the main entrance of the Residentz. In the middle of the fountain, there are some nice statues and carvings. A great place to take pictures of the Residentz.

Great picture site. The fountain and statue are interesting and make a good picture. The location is in from of the Residenz which is worth going into.

As my wife and I had chosen to bypass a tour of the Residenz, this was the only thing, as well as the exterior that we could get a photograph of from the road. Pretty enough,

Stand closer to the road and get both the fountain and as much of the residence in your photo. Then actually go inside and tour the residence.

This is the statue and fountain in front of the Residenz. You see it as you approach the palace and from the square. It is a good landmark to meet by.

This statue, situated in front of the Wurzburg Palace, was to honor Prince Regent Luitpold, from Wurzburg and Franconia. The prince was born in 1821 in the Palace and this was done for his 70th birthday on June 4, 1894. He didn't want a statue of himself, so instead the figure of Franconia was done and the statues around the... More

Okay, it's interesting. Is it over the top? Nah. For any TripAdvisor searcher (and searches), some will find the same results as "Viierrohrenbrunnen" (same attraction). Just in case anyone wants to pursue all the possible avenues. So, this is a very nice fountain statue at the entry to the "Residenz" aka "The Residenzeplatz" (for further TripAdvisor searches). This fountain is one of the first things you see when you enter the Residence grounds. According to our guide, there was a statue to honor Prince Regent Luitpold who did not want any memorial. So the Franonia Fountain was sculpted instead and is suppose to symbolizes Franconia, holding the Franconia storm flag in one hand and a laurel wreath... More

The fountain is in front of the Rezidence on the big square. There are three very important personalities to see Mathias Grünewald Renaissance painter Walther von der Vogelweide, Poet in 12. century and Tilman Riemenschneider the big sculptor from Würzburg.
