Behind the St. Kilians Cathedral a little bit hidden lies the Lusamgartlein. Very nice shadow place en sommer you can rest or eat and drink somthing. There are enough seats for rest. The old cloister makes the place very romantic and remenbers to the poet Walther von der Vogelweide which dies here arround the year of 1230.

We looked for this garden area after our visit to the inside of Neumunsterkirche. We left the church through a side door and came across a small passage way with soft reddish pink stone arch work fronted by a bed planted with low evergreens and short grasses. We discovered this small garden accidentally, when leaving the church on a side exit. It looks like a cosy small garden, and probably not a lot of people know about it, so it is not crowded. I guess it could be a nice place to take a break from walking in sommer.

it seems just a few tourists know about this smaal but highly picturesque garden... In the small, but romantic, Lusam Garden (access via Martinstraße) in the northern part of the Neumünster church is the Tomb monument located of minstrel Walther von der Vogelweide, who was allowed by Frederick II to retain his former residence in Würzburg.
