Maybe it was due to the overabundance of images found online, for I personally did not find this spot as impressive. Its uniqueness was unmistakable and despite the charmingly restored townhouses along both sides of both roads, there was a missing aura which historically beautiful...More

Go super early before the buses get there. Holy geeze the place was a ghost town the day before, then the buses arrived. Felt like I was at Niagara Falls! Selfie sticks galore. First I've seen them after being in Europe for past week.

Plonlein appears as if it's been plucked out of a storybook. The half-timbered architecture and steep room are picturesque (but also garners a lot of tourists during the day). To avoid the crowds, I recommend staying at least one night in Rothenburg to see it...More

Camera's at the ready. This is a cobbled space of changing levels framed by towers and timber framed houses.A delightful townscape

This intersection is supposed to be one of the highlights of the walled city; picturesque and quaint. Frankly, so overrated. there were far more significant buildings; this cutesy intersection filled with jostling tourists trying to get the best photo is just that: cutesy. Missable, to...More

This is quintessential Bavaria. Half timber houses at their best. There's plenty of shops and restaurants around this area too.

Great number of small shops up to this part of town, don’t miss the small castle garden that you can find by going down one of the tiny streets, you have a fantastic view of the area.

On a clear day this is probably the most photographed spot in all of Rothenburg. So quaint and medieval looking. It’s hard to get a clear shot since so many people are taking photos but be patient!

This is a very pretty spot in town but there are many pretty spots. The one difference we could tell is you can see two towers from the corner which is unique. Go early or at dusk for photos without the crowds!

The beautiful half-timbered building is located between two towers behind a small fountain at a fork in the road. The location makes it very picturesque and it is a great photo spot. Stop by for a quick selfie and then move on.

Das Plonlein is basically one of the gate entries to the town but the order and placement of the two streets with it's medieval houses still looking the same offers you great charm as it would have done ages before. The best time to visit...More

Hello, there are I think about 8 different fountains in Rothenburg. One is in front gf the Plönlein where the streets divide and where the half-timbered house is. Another one is at the main market square, then there is the... More
