A very nice old town, unfortunately you as a traveler with bike nicely pitched.
There are virtually no wheel stands in front of or certainly not in the city!
Wanted to buy something in a sports shop, unfortunately no possibility to park the bikes without putting it against a house wall.
And that you can find a hotel with shelter for the bikes we had to continue four to Halblech. Too bad since the cyclists are very advertised.
Greetings from Styria

Unfortunately I received a parking ticket and wasn't sure how to pay it since we were leaving that day. I took it to the tourist office and they accepted payment and said they would deliver it to the police station for me. Despite the ticket that is good service!

The people at this TI were very friendly, spoke English and had great ideas for things to do in the area. And the whole area inside and out of the TI has free WiFi so you can stay connected while out and about.

We were there in person to get advice for a group tour planned for the summer. Unfortunately, absolutely none.
When Tourist Information employees simply respond to such a request with "Look on the Internet, there is an online guided tour that you can do yourself," one raises the question of the Tourist Information Office's raison d'être. And what at first glance appears to be a team of five, none of whom had the idea of offering a little more advice.
Information about the castle? Find online. Information about guided tours in the festival hall? Please look online.
I expect a tourist information office in such a prestigious location to have suggestions and recommendations for guests. For groups, couples, individual travelers, ... guided tours, tips, contacts, tour suggestions. Everyone can find a link to the website themselves. Unbelievable.

Came to Fussen for many reasons one of them being that this was the location of our favourite film The Great Escape we had hoped to find the locations in the town where Gordon Jackson and Richard Attenborough were arrested by the Gestapo. When I enquired at the desk the young lady said she had never heard of the film.Given that alot of people visit for this reason and that a festival was held last year to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary I found it quite bewildering, maybe I want too much !

We were very disappointed by the tourist office in Fussen. Having to rely on email and short telephone conversations, we were looking for somewhere to book having set out our itnerary to them, 4 nights one accommodation in each location for 4 nights. Emails received, pensions don't speak English and only just understood my poor German. One booked us in, then they say, cancelled. Having to drive around looking for a room for the night. Most of the accomodation the Tourist Office sent was already booked and or either, didn't do one night bookings. Complained on our return regarding the cancellation and they didn't want to know. Sent two emails with no response. Very poor customer service, very poor information received from them.

Very unhelpful young female staff member (who was the only person on duty mid afternoon) when we arrived by train - she didn't seem to want to help at all but this may have been because her English is quite weak.

The tourist information is situated on the Kaiser-Maximilian-Platz which is very central. They have very friendly and helpful staff and leaflets are available in many languages.I would give this a higher mark, but they do not give information on all there is to know about Füssen:For instence Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos was BORN in the city in 1819 and died in New Orleans in 1867.What did the city do to honour the 150th Anniversary of his death?NOTHING!What do they plan to do to honour the 200 anniversary of his birth next year 2019?NOTHING! Since Füssen got their latest Tourism Director, the town has tried to get ride of backpackers and tourists on a low budget. They only want people to visit who are loaded with money and willing to spend it!It is a pity that the Tourist Information Office has this attitude which is backed by the Mayor of Füssen.Shouldn't Füssen, which was once a very Catholic City and full of poor people be open to anyone.Should the local tourist office be there to welcome all to our beautiful city? Many Americans are visiting Füssen to come and see the Shrine of Blessed Seelos in St Mang Basilica. There is not one mention of Blessed Seelos on the English or German sites run by the tourist office in Füssen. It is a great mistake and doesn't bode well for them.

We had stayed the night in Fussen and were leaving by train later in the day to our next destination.
We were at the information centre at opening time and the girl there was very helpful, she thought our best bet would be to get the old town map and follow the walking route with all relevant places marked.
We followed her advice and within four hours had covered the whole area and had visited many interesting historic places.
She gave us the map which was free and easy to follow, so we reckon the first place to visit in town is the information centre.

Hello, We are going to travel in interrail next summer and we want to visit the Neuschwanstein castle. The problem is the bag because we read that is prohibited to enter big bag in the castle. Is there any locker to keep our belonging? Thanks!

Hi, as far as I know, there is no opportunity to deposit luggage. Furthermore, you Need to Walk uphill for quite some time ... so taking the luggage with you does not really make sense.

Hi. Are there any local English-speaking guides you can refer me to that will take us on a 1/2.day tour to Neuschwanstein Castle?
Written 7 July 2017
Sorry Linda
I have only seen your message today. We were on a tour in Fussen so did not need to look for a tour guide. It is important to book for Neuschwanstein before going there. It is a very popular place. Suzanne
