I'd read reviews that this was not that interesting, but even as a non-German speaker I really enjoyed this. It's quite large, with interesting architecture and art. I got a good sense of why Fussen is considered the "romantic soul of Bavaria".

Definitely a museum for string instrument lovers. Artifacts from centuries ago, artwork, and a library that will blow your mind. One thing we witnessed, is people that purchased tickets, were told when they went to enter, no entry was allowed after 4pm (If I remember...More

This is an attractive museum to walk around. Fussen was one of the great European centres of violin making and this is well covered with excellent demonstrations of construction techniques and many exhibits of ancient instruments.

With the Fussen Card admission was only€4, which is about right for this very eclectic display of contemporary art alonside the historic artifacts. The instrument making exhibit was very informative. First time I have ever seen a Hurdy Gurdy

The museum in interesting and basically goes back over the history of the area and what allowed the area to thrive. If you do not speak German, it can be disappointing, there is a book they give you with English in it, but it is...More

So this museum would be interesting for German speakers, but not so much for those who don't speak German. Lots of artifacts and cultural gems. I liked the section on violins and lute's but more English signs would have made it better. Also no audio...More
