At the height of its glory, Dinkelsbuehl was a vibrant economic center with thriving gilds and a prosperous citizenry. As a token of their status, the city began construction on Georgskirche in 1448 and completed it in 1499. The church is a stunning example of...More

This is a very tall church in a very tiny town. It is made of thick stone walls. The interior is nice.

Structure and design was preserved. Huge church near my hotel in the old town. Visited on a weekdays where few people are inside this church.

The church is located near the center of the old town. The first impression entering the church is that it is very tall and bright. The altar pieces are carvings from the 15th century and are beautiful. For anyone visiting Dinkelsbuhl, this is not to...More

If you are traveling between Nuremberg and Stuttgart, stop in Dinkelsbuhl, A beautiful quaint town with an absolutely beautiful and well worth seeing St. George Church. It is a wide-aisled late Gothic church, built in 1448-1499. Lots of nice carvings and artifacts.

We came to Dinkelsbuhl to see the Old Town but we were pleasantly surprised by the magnificence of this gothic cathedral. St. George church is absolutely beautiful and well worth seeing. Our granddaughter was particularly impressed by her first experience with this gothic architecture. Don't...More

This is the largest hall church in Germany - which means the side aisles are the same height as the nave. Withstanding "baroqueification" to a remarkable degree and other styles of different eras, it remains very clean. Reminding of French gothic cathedrals. Very worth seeing...More

It's amazing to think about how something of this beauty and size was built many years ago. I have a true appreciation for the artisans. So beautiful inside, very quiet...a wonderful place to reflect upon life

The fact that st George is so well established in the Bavarian Kings is surprising. The artwork and wood carvings are worth seeing. We can only imagine the riches that were stored in this church.

Great example of Gothic Architecture, in the center of the old town. It is worth a visit, even if only for the size.

We went to St. George's for Easter Mass, which was wonderful. The organ music was spectacular. Mass was in German of course. We felt like part of the town.
