It is very hard to analize the Maximilian strasse fountains. One is nicer than the other. This one was made at the end of the 16.th century, the main figur is a naked Herkules.

Strolling along Maximilianstrasse, the main drag of the old town Augsburg, you will see three impressive Baroque monumental fountains, each with a bronze statue: Augustus is in front of the Rathaus, Mercury is nearby the Moritzplaz and Hercules is in front of the Schaezlerpalais. This is the best renaissance sculpture in Augsburg, made for the 1500 anniversary of Augsburg (thats already more than 500 years ago) World class!
