There are a lot of narrow stairs, but there are conveniently placed wider sections of the climb up which have some good photos of areas of Augsberg during WW2 bombing and today. The view from the top is excellent but be mindful of the time...More

Very beautiful view over Augsburg after a hard climb. After a narrow ascent, 258 steps reach the highest point, just below the bells of the tower. From there you have a great view over the whole city, with good weather up to the Alps.

As you climb the narrow stairs, you see pictures of the WW2 bombed out buildings and next to them the beautifully refurbished ones of today. Great for history buffs and everyone else.

I was fortunate to be able to visit the tower on a Monday. I was the only one in there! Lots of stairs to climb, but you get a beautiful view of the city.

Given this is an important place in the city, I found it disappointing. It is a little difficult to use the stairs as it is tight and the plates at the top are torn. The view is not totally open as there are railings
