This place is beautiful and brimming with history. I could easily spend two hours hear trying to absorb and investigate the artistic and architectural elements of this place. It might be better with a guide.

By far more interesting than the Cathedral. This church has a little bit for everyone. It's further off the beaten trail so it is quieter, more ornate, and has more character. The entrance through the courtyard is stunning.

Yes, another church - but one of the very best. St Emmeram Church/Abbey - apparently now actually a basilica (minor). One of the most spectacular churches I've visited in Europe. An absolute must if visiting Regensburg.

St. Emmeram is a famous name in Regensburg. It is the place of the former St Emmeram monastery, from with this church is the remaining structure. On the foundation of the former monastery, the Thurn und Taxis palace has been built. (Logically next door to...More

I missed it my first time in town. On the edge of the old town, the church is surprisingly bright and airy upon entering. It's off the beaten path so it can feel more churchy than museumy. I recommend.

Possibly the most beautiful rococo church we saw in Germany. Should not be missed. Make sure you also see St. Rupert's Church while you're there.

Located not far from Turn & Taxis Palace. It is a good place to reflect on church history. We were the only visitors when we were there.

This stunning church is so light and bright -- very inviting! The art on the ceilings and walls is gorgeous -- walk about and enjoy it from many angles. Entry is free and photography is permitted. This was not part of our walking tour with...More

Sorry, no gift shop there. This church is not on the common tourist path. I also didn't see an office. Maybe you can contact the parish through their web site: just put in: "st-emmeram-regensburg" in your browser... More
