Quiet, reflective of the monks who used the chapel for so long before turning it over to the postal Thurn und Taxis princely family. Spooky at night. Outside often deserted, benign neglect in the area.

This is the church onsite at the Thune and Taxis palace. This whole historic area is cool but the inside of this church is one of the most ornate I’ve seen. Beautiful gold detail and works of art adorn just about everything. Even if you...More

We visited after our tour of the Thurn und Taxis Palace. Very impressive interior! Nicely decorated without being too over the top. St Emmeram's martyrdom is quite the story too.

The church has gates that are locked when Mass is not in session so you can't walk around. There is one chapel open at all times. We happened to go during noon Mass so we could see all of the church and hear some of...More

Walked into this lovely church and found it awesome...definitely worth a walk from the old town. Go onto the Castle of Turim and Taxis, and stop for lunch jus before the entrance.

Saint Emmeram has a rather unique history and it's really obvious once you enter the church, its origins date back to a Benedictine Monastery but its real draw is its ornate gold gilded columns and its rather unusual glass covered fully clothed mummified remains complete...More

St. Emmeram Church is another beautifully decorated church. The interior columns are white with gold, so the church is much brighter than your typical Gothic style church. What makes the church rather unique are the side walls of the church where you find clothed skeletons...More

This place is beautiful and brimming with history. We spent well over an hour here. We arrived around 8:30 in the morning through the courtyard entrance. We were the only ones in the Church the entire time we were there. Best church in Regensburg very...More

As soon as we walked through the old arch entry way we loved this church. Absolutely stunning alters that take your breathe away. There are so many tombs here to see, this Church has a very old history. The architecture is marvellous and if you...More

Sorry, no gift shop there. This church is not on the common tourist path. I also didn't see an office. Maybe you can contact the parish through their web site: just put in: "st-emmeram-regensburg" in your browser... More
