    Perfection of the Gothic style
The Cathedral of St Peter's is a masterwork of Gothic architecture. Even without knowing a lot about the Gothic style, the casual glance will show anyone the mass of this structure and the length of time that it took to build it...the stone on the outside is actually multi-colored because, over the centuries, the stones actually had to come from different quarries. And the ongoing restoration of the church is beautifully keeping that "inconsistency" alive. Definitely a must see while in Regensburg.

    Impressive
This is a great Gothic Cathedral with lots of stained glass. There is an impressive statue of St Peter before the cross in the back of the church. It is hard to get a good picture of it without a lot of people around. Large soaring roof gives you an awesome feeling.

    Impressive Church
We were told to be sure to visit here. A guide gave us lots of information regarding the building of the church, the architectural design, the carved statues, and the colors of the stones. What an amazing history story. Sad that we saw the scaffolding on hte right side of the entrance instead of the full beauty of the building.

    Almost forbidding
This enormous building is the second largest cathedral in Germany. It was built many centuries ago on top of a Roman ruin and it makes you wonder how? Then it was rebuilt centuries ago after terrible fires. Still being restored today, the maintenance probably never stops. The twin towers can be seen from the Old Stone Bridge as you come into town. The inside is striking, with intricate stained glass windows stretching to the dome ceiling, plus numerous statues. You can go downstairs where you can see the bones of Regensburg, the founder of the city. Also, outside there is a little chapel where you find an icon of John Paul II.

    Great Gothic Church
This is a great Gothic church. They are doing a lot of repairs to the exterior which is covered in scaffolding right now. The gothic details you can see are pretty amazing, though. The inside is excellent with some beautiful stained glass widows and there is a small museum attached with some cool objects. The cathedral is free but the museum is 3 Euro.

I am not a religious person, but I can't help but stop to think in a place like this. The art work that goes into it in order to worship God is just amazing and powerful. The beautiful architecture was built hundreds of years before the technology we have today. Definitely stop to see this when in Regensborg.

The main cathedral of Regensburg, built in the 7th century and later rebuilt in the 13th century. It is a great example of medieval Gothic architecture. There's no entry fees to enter.

Lovely cathedral - it was nice a cool there on a hot day. The extra 3 euros to check out the treasury was worth it.

This was our second visit to this church. Simple, elegant, gorgeous. The stained glass, clearly a work of art. No cost to visit.

We just stopped in for a few minutes but the Cathedral of St. Peter is beautiful and is free to enter. This cathedral was started in 1273 but not completed until 1520.
