“If you have seen one church, you have seen them all” does not apply here. The interior is very unique and stunning. The Baroque finish includes a thousand figures. The organ is the largest in the world. Unfortunately we had to leave before the 12:00...More

We wanted to attend the Sunday service with the choirs and we did. The service began with an English language introduction saying that everyone was welcome and explaining to people the process of the service. It was a very nice way to start Sunday.
This is a beautiful gothic style church that is a wonder to behold. It is fascinating to explore the many details and stand back and take in its whole structure. If you think you are “churched out” think again. It’s worth the visit.
The interesting thing is the two spires each have a different design. The Smiling Angel statue, from 1280, truly has an amazing smile that will touch your heart. The high vaulting and spacial sense this intricate cross-ribbed ceiling is a marvel of human ingenuity.

A direct train connection is there between Wurzburg main station and Regensburg main station. Travel time 2 hrs. Standard fare single trip is 48 Euros. Traveling by car is easy by following Motorway 3 from Wurzburg to Regensburg. Many hotels with free parking are in the neighborhood of the city center of Regensburg. In Regensburg is a good and cheap public transport system.
