Climb the hill from the market square and you reach the castle. It's got great views over the city once up there. It's well worth the walk and the castle although small is worth wandering round. A bonus being the free toilet, always a help...More

An interesting castle with a very old keep tower where you can see the original entry part way up where the nobles could retreat into and pull up the ladder.

The views from the castle are worth the steep climb. It is especially a great vantage point to see Nuremberg from above to get one's bearings especially of the old city. The reconstruction of Nuremberg after the war is phenomenal.

Worth a walk up for great views of the city. The re-built castle after the war is impressive but not the largest I have seen. We didn't pay for entry so cannot comment on anything else.

Although this castle visit is nothing as extensive as those at Edinburgh castle, any of the Loire Valley chateaux, Neuschwannstein or Heidelberg Castle, it is still worth a visit if you are in Nuremberg. It doesn't take long, and is not hard to get to...More

It comes down to have you been to another Germany old town? If not, then it is a yes. If you have and enjoyed the other one, then I would go. If you do like seeing old buildings/walls or moats, then do not go. I like old... More

Two key areas to visit: old Town and the Holy Roman Emperors Castle (walking tour); and the former Nazi Party grounds and HQ(museum now).
