Dominating the city skyline, you can miss the place. At the time of the Holy Roman Empire, it was home to each of the emperors and was one of the most important royal places. The sights include the new castle museum, the palace with the...More

This castle can be done on your own but a knowledgeable tour guide can add significant insights into the history of the location, it’s impotence and the people who governed here. A must see if you visit the city.

We all know that this area is well known for the Christmas market, but the truth is that during sunny days it is with the visit. Bring confortable clothes and shoes.

I almost always take a taxi from the train station up to the Castle and after touring it, walk back down through the old city. Great photos to be taken of the walls, towers, and inside, as well as the city from above. Kids get...More

I have visited Nürnberg annually for 8 years, but this was my first visit inside the castle. There is a current exhibition (until October 14) on Bavaria's gold, but the highlight is still the chapel. It was built around 1200. It is unusual in that...More

There are several car parks in and around the center of Nürnberg and within walking distance of the castle. They would be your best bet since street parking is fairly restrictive.
