    Impressive well preserved/rebuilt Castle
The Kaiserburg is one of the main attractions in Nuremberg: from the other sightseeing we did, this place drew the most visitors. One can enter the castle without a ticket, although I would advise buying one if you want to see the museum, the 50m deep fountain, and the Sinwellturm. All three are worth it, in my opinion. I was a bit disappointed by the museum. If you're a German speaker, you might not, but otherwise, there's a lot of information that's not available in English. If you don't speak German, you might want to ask for an audio guide when you buy the tickets. Some exhibits (not all of them) are marked as having information in the audio guide. We didn't get audio guides since after visiting the German National Museum we expected that all information would be available in English as well. As a history buff, the museum shop was a letdown. There were barely any history books at all, other than just a few tours and guides, and out of those, very few of them were in English.

Well worth the walk up the hill
I walked to the castle grounds from my hotel in the early morning. It was a few miles and a good start to the day. Once I arrived, seeing the castle grounds and gardens were beautiful. You also get a very nice view of the city from the top. Once in the tour, you got to see old weaponry and learn some history of the area. Well worth the trip, and better than other higher rated attractions in the area. Well worth it.

    Historic Castle
The castle rises over Nuremberg and offers great views of the city. Inside you have several admission offers and we chose the Palace tour with the museum (largely weapons - but included with the palace). You can also visit the Sinwell Tower and Deep well, but we did not have time. A lot of the castle was destroyed in WW2, but the double chapel and some other rooms remain, and there was a lot of information about Nuremberg´s place in the Holy Roman Empire. There is also an attractive garden.

Historic site that is well worth a visit
Up the hill from the main town. Besides walking up the incline to the main gates there are also numerous stairs between floors of the main palace so be prepared for some walking. Tickets come for either the main palace or the well and tower or as a combination. The combination is the best deal and we managed to race through all three is just about an hour and a half. The Deep Well presentation is only in German but there is an English printed guide and our guide spoke English and answered any questions we had. The Sinwell tower is essentially a viewing platform over the city and worth it if you can make the climb. The palace had some interesting features like the Double Chapel but none of the items had an English translation – having Google Translate and an internet connection were a nice addition. Displays of armor were interesting both for the evolution of armor for protection but also for the evolution of weapons that turned armor into essentially ceremonial dress.

    A hidden gem
We stopped here to fill some extra time in our day; I wish we had realized how great it was so that we would have had more time. The whole site was really pretty. The history museum was informative and engaging. Sadly we didn't have time to see more.

Worth a visit both inside and out - great views of the old town. And good exercise walking up and down!
The building had been destroyed during WWII but also had been dramatically renovated (and simplified) during the Nazi period to make it more broadly “German” rather than Bavarian - there are many photos of before and after. Great views of the old town from the gardens/hill. The exhibition of weapons is well done - the other exhibitions are rather limited. It is an interesting area to walk around but at times can be challenging - it is steep in places.

    Castle conservation
Kaiserburg Castle ( the Imperial Castle) which served as the residence of Germany's Kaiser and kings between 1050 and 1571 was almost completely destroyed in WW2. Immediately after the war, Rudolf Esterer rebuilt the complex almost exactly on the principle of "creative conservation". It stands at the northern end of the old town and is a relatively easy walk.

Impressive Castle Tower, and excellent Well of the Castle Tour
Kaiserburg Nürnberg is a palace included in the Bavarian Castle Pass (14 day or annual). Our family visited the Kaiserburg Nürnberg in Sept. 2024. We found that the castle ground is standard and normal. However, what shined was the history explanation of the castle, the view from the Castle Tower (included in the ticket price), and especially the excellent tour given at the well of the castle. We find that the young man who was given the well of the castle tour that day to be particular energetic, and gave an excellent English tour (which were the majority of the audience that day, only one guest indicated that she can speak German). His witty narrative helped us appreciating the construction and the maintenance needed for the well of the castle, and greatly improved our experience.

The Nuremberg Castle is located high above the city and dates back about thousand years.

We visited on a clear and sunny day, and the view of the city from the top of the hill was really great. Due to Covid 19 measures access is limited. We had to wait for about an hour to get inside the Castle, where it is possible to follow the signs to the different parts of the Castle. Some of the rooms are small, so we had quite a few minor waits during our tour.

In my opinion the most interesting parts are the Chapel and the Knight’s Hall. The view from the Castle is very much the same as you can enjoy for free from the outside.

Visiting this castle puts you at the heart of the medieval history of Nuremberg. Before entering on the actual tour (we used our Nuremberg Pass for admission) we took in some views of Nuremberg from atop the hill - you can even see the Nazi Kongresshalle on a clear day. Because it's a medieval castle on a hill, you have to navigate a network of steep paths just to get to the castle entrance. We got there in the mid-afternoon, and as a result we didn't have a ton of time to explore. However, we were comfortably able to make it through all the chambers, although our enthusiasm started to flag when we got to the medieval armor and weapon displays. That said, the grounds and the architecture alone made for a neat visit, even if you're not as much into medieval history itself. By the time we finished it was getting somewhat dark, and we found that the illumination of the castle made for some really neat perspectives of it.

My visit in Nuremberg should have included the castle and I went up to the top of town but I denied owing to an awful person who treat me in a very rude way. Here follow I tell you what happened.

I arrived a little bit in advance in order to admire the beautiful view. In the meantime the staff working inside the castle was getting in to start the job day. Each of them very kindly and friendly said me “Good morning” except a man walking with a stick who looked like very annoying.

Then, I wait for the opening hours outside and the automatic doors opened three minutes earlier so I approached but when I went in the same man I saw before shouted me in German language with a rude way to go out because it wasn’t the right hour even if the doors were opened and only three minutes missing to nine o’clock. First of all nobody is allowed to deal with visitors in a such impolite way nor shouting against people. On the other hand, more flexibility would be appreciated because three minutes are really few. Besides, if you want that people stay outside you had better open the doors at the right time not before ! However, I understand that the real problem is the impolite and rude man who should be removed because he is the wrong person in the wrong place. Hoping next visitors won’t come across in a such awful person because the tourist could make my choice and go away without visiting the castle. A real pity for Nuremberg!

Really enjoyed our visit here. Not the most impressive castle in terms of appearance but it does have a fascinating history.

I speak an intermediate level of German but a lot of the information provided on the exhibits was only in German, I could translate some but not all. So it may be hard for those who do not speak any German whatsoever, however still a great day out.

We visited 1st October 2020 and just wanted to say big well done to all the staff in how they managed the covid situation. We had the whole sit to ourselves. Lovely!

This exceptional hill fortress has many different sections and it doesn't take that long to see everything that is on offer so get the package ticket and go to the museum/castle, the water well, the tower and anything else that's open. I mention this because sometimes things are closed for renovation. The castle itself probably takes the longest to see but it can be done in an hour. Reserve at least 2 hours and you can see it all. Much of the complex is not part of the museum, for example one of the larger buildings is a hotel.

Its worth it to climb up to the highest point of Nürnberg, where there is the Burg, which is good restaurated and great experience to see the old walls, towers, etc. The museum is also great. The view about the city its nothing special however for a good walk its a great 1-2 hours program.

It was quite an enjoyable experience walking through Nuremberg just to get to the castle. The walk through the old town was quite enjoyable with unique sculptures and interesting buildings. Although there is an incline to get to the castle, the walk up is worth the effort. There are amazing views of the area from the top.
We didn't have time to go into the museum but its a nice reason to come back.
There were two different towers, both of which have nice viewpoints. It was also quite interesting walking along the path and observing the gardens below.
It was a nice place to walk around and enjoy the olden day vibes.

It is a bit of a hike to get to the castle, so if you are having mobility issues this may not be for you. Interesting history as it was the seat of power for the Hapsburg dynasty. I suggest a good guide if you want to understand the history and how it influenced Hitler's decision to use Nuremberg as a focal point of so many activities,

Near the top there is a fabulous panorama if the city. Fr that alone it is worth the climb, but if you want the history too - get a guide
