We were walking in the Old Town and we saw this beautiful place on the bank of Pegnitz river. It’s a scenic photo point with the Alter Wasserturm, and the old timber frame house, Weinstadel. We returned in a few days again.

As we were walking around the Old Town, this spot by the bridge is just enchanting and photographs beautifully. The buildings and bridge are frozen in the medieval times.

Nuremberg is a beautiful city but this area by the river is particularly pretty. Walk to the Weinstadel and take pictures up and down the river from the road bridge and the old wooden footbridge which leads to Henkerhaus.

This is an old building located right next to Hangman's Bridge. It is not opened to public but is great for a photo stop.

In interesting heritage building in Nuremburg is that of Wienstadel located on the northern bank of the Pegnitz at Maxplatz. This is one of the city's most famous architectural buildings.

What you see here is the largest half-timbered house in Germany, originally constructed between 1446-48. At that time, this location was outside the city walls. It was used then a hospice and place to feed lepers in the Middle Ages. In later became an imperial city wine storage location, giving the building its present name - Weinstadel (Wine Storage).

Heavily damaged during WWII bombing raids, it was reconstructed in the 1950s providing the version of Weinstadel that you can see today. Good views can be found from Maxbrücke as well as the small street that runs just to the west of this important heritage building.

This is hardly a highlight of Nürnberg, but it is a very nice walk if you have the time. Bring a camera. The name derives from the distant past when this was a vine growing area of town. Since then Nürnberg has become better known for its beer.
