- apollo12Macclesfield, United Kingdom691 contributionsAmazing site. You get a sense of what the place looked like when it was constructed as a rally ground, if only to admire the sheer size and reflect on the events that took place here. The main podium area still stands, and is accessible, and, from the grounds you can see how small the figures are when they stand there. Go to reflect and learn but not to glorify.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 November 2023
- Dave WSan Diego, California55 contributionsImpactful visit, highly recommended. This was a very impactful experience. If one is interested in WW II history this is a must see. There is an associated (free) walking tour, with explanatory signs in both German and English. The walk takes about one hour to complete, however, be aware that the directional signage for the walk can be hard to follow in some places, especially since there is also a nature trail with a similar numbering system but that goes in the opposite direction (and the wording is not in English). If there are any tour groups you may want to keep any eye on what direction they are going. Also, highly recommend visiting the Documentation Center.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 December 2023
- BobN06Avondale, Pennsylvania721 contributionsGreat site for WWII History FansVisit the location of the famous rallies of the National Socialist Party that were designed by Albert Speer during the 1930’s. This is the location where the large rallies that you see in the films occurred. The scale and the layout are imposing when you think about what occurred here. Great stop for any WWII fans. From the entrance there is a nice view with reflection across the lake to the unfinished Congress Hall. Best with a guide.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 June 2024
- Jbear697Canberra, Australia114 contributionsInterestingThis was interesting to see and it’s as the pictures show. I think I was disappointed with the amount of information that was presented. There was only a few sign posts and most of them were on the restorative work and future plans for the area rather than the history. They were also up top on the grand stand. I understand that the area is used for car races and other activities so they need to be out of the way but we had to go up separately cause we couldn’t take the pram (obviously) it would have been nice to walk down bottom and read the information. It is an easy walk from the train station.Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten 8 September 2024

An impressive structure that transmits to posterity the ability of the German National Socialist Party to impress crowds and operate in terms of communication. Even today this grandeur reaches visitors despite every attempt to minimize it (and this is understandable). It makes a certain impression to stand on the podium from which the evil genius Hitler spoke

Went to Campo Zepplin near Zepplinfeld not to glorify in any way what went on there but to see the place for historical reasons. While the main part of the stadium was destroyed after the war, the stands and some background is still there but getting quite dilapidated now as no money is spent on it. The fields are now used for sport and there is a racetrack on the roads.

You visit here and get a chill when you stop and give some thought to what took place here and what their plans were for the future.
It's a chilling experience when you think of Hitler speaking/ranting at those rallies where 100,000-200,000 Nazis gathered to plot their takeover of the European continent.
It is in disrepair, so don't expect too much.
The columns have been removed from the backdrop, but you can still get a sense of what took place, and you can see the grandstand where Hitler stoood to make his speeches.
Worth a visit and worth a resolution.

This is an important historical site. The massive Nazi rallies seen on those old black and white newsreels took place here. The basic structures are still in place and it is quite interesting to stand where so many stood many years ago. A must do if you visit Nuremberg.

I am not really a history buff, but I do like to learn about famous historical places. This is a must see if you are in Nuremberg. It is very large and it feels like something much different in person than what you may see on TV. We have been twice and it is very interesting.

Most amazing is that it wasn't destroyed, in one of the usual attempts to remove history. The temperamental Austrian with the mustache was there 90 years ago, and anybody can have their opinion on that. But we should never remove history, because without it, we can't learn from it. It is being partly rebuilt and repaired, for memory's sake, so we can learn. Good, but the danger is that we say."Oh how awful, but that was many years ago", and then forget the things happening in many parts of the world later.

Is it possible to visit the Gold Hall inside the building? Is it open for public, or only on some special occasions (if I understood it correctly)?
