Arriving and exiting from the train station the tower is the first historical thing you see and following the road leads you to the heart of Old town.

When we exited the underground passage from the Hauptbahnhof, this was the first thing I saw. I was gobsmacked by the sheer size of the tower. It was quite large and beside the tower, there is the Handwerkerhof Nürnberg, a medieval shopping village.
The large tower gave a really nice first impression of the city. I'm not sure if you were able to head up but that would've been a nice adventure.

Steps from the central station, this was very picturesque. Lots of shops and a few eateries hidden around it.

Located opposite the train station / this was the first building that caught our attention when we arrived in the city.

Very historic and well worth a wander around. It is very pretty.

Not exciting. I thought there would be more of a story behind the tower. Just another tower. You can see this from the main station.

The Women's Tower is only a short distance across the road from Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof. The tourist information centre is at the foot of the tower too so it is quite a focal point.

Unfortunately I did not find out much in terms of the history of the tower however I love the style of it and for a guy from the South of England it's very different architecture from what I am used to.

The first thing which you see in the city is Women's Tower. It's an old heritage building located opposite the train station.

At the beginning of Konigstrasse stands this tower - a memory from the medieval times.
Round shaped tower well preserved right across the street from the main railway station of Nurnberg.
It used to be part of the cities fortification system and today stands at the entrance of the Old town and is a tourist attraction. City walls can be seen right beside of it. And as you pass through the gate on its side you will find several souvenir shops and a restaurant in the area called - in approximate translation - "Craftsmen's village".
You cannot get inside - it would enhance it's value as a tourist attraction if you could visit it.
Overall all is a landmark in Nurnberg and I recommend you stop for a few pictures when you are visiting the Old town.

One of a number of similar round towers dotted around the Alstadt walls, this one is in a prominent position as the entrance nearest the Hauptbahnhof, so highly visible to arriving visitors. Restored, as so many are - but you can’t get in. Check out the craft workers cottages beside here fir souvenirs.

This is a very distinctive tower that can be seen from various landmarks throughout the city including the castle.
