After many visits to Munich, but never making it in the Nymphenburg Botanical Gardens, I decided this time to do it as a had a couple of spare hours. Absolutely NO regret, despite the fact, that the 'greenhouses' are presently under renovation.

Great visit to the butterfly house. We lucked out as it had just opened for the day and was not yet crowded. Since it is still Winter, the outside areas are not in bloom so I plan to revisit in Spring.

Many rooms and nice to visit - we visited also the butterfly exhibition and also outside areas. Lots to see, plan at least 2-3 hours.

85% of the garden is a huge park with usually known flowers. The have some cactus and some tropical trees but that's all. And they don't have so many explanations in English, only german

The light rail train from Munich central station to amalienburg strasse with the # 17 train. The stop is botanischer garten and the entrance to the garden is across the street.
