It's not the most important gallery in the World and the collection is so-so. But there are some interesting exhibits to be seen, the design section is excellent and the architecture of the building is awesome. 2-3 hours is enough. Do have a cake and...More

The building alone is worth seeing, never mind the art. This is a good collection, and not really modern-modern art, but more "normal" stuff. Spend a couple of hours here.

1 Euro entrance fee on Sundays. Magritte, Miro, Dali, Kandinsky, Klee, Picasso and more. Could have spent longer than 3 hours, but I wanted to make the New Pinakothek as well which just across the street. Another MUST see while in Munich.

The museum offers a wide variety of art, from ceramics to photographs to furniture to art etc so I would definitely recommend visiting!

Loved the design collection - really impressive. Also, the pop-up house and GM furniture farm were very provocative. You'll catch some serious modern masters here. Jewelley collection also a must see.

Personally I think these three Pinakothek Museums, all within a couple of minutes walk of each other, are one of the most underrated museum complexes in Europe. They are not crowded, come with the headphones included in the price, are easily accessible via the tram...More

Yes on the ground floor. It doubles as a cafe and restaurant. The food was very good when I was there.
