We started with the design section and were totally entranced by the variety, beauty and creativity of the objects on display. (Just randomly... a tea set in silver by Zaha Hadid - who knew?) Thought-provoking narratives on the meaning/purpose/longevity of design. Great fun. Than on...More

I love modern art. But there was just too much "scribbling". At the risk of offending the artist(s), I can only take so much blank pieces of paper with pencil scribblings. I'm not talking sketches, I really mean scribbling indistinguishable from a 3 year old...More

Entry is only 1 euro on Sundays! The main collection is not big but very nicely displayed and highly interesting, I loved wandering around the museum.

As we reading a small description of what we were looking at, a stern female guard came over and told us to move away from the print! It was a print of a photograph, not a classic work of art, no value at all. We...More

We arrived at 5 pm aware that the museum closes at 6pm. However at 5:50 the staff started "herding" us towards the exit. No smiling, no understanding, no politeness, just showing us the way to the exit. So we headed downstairs to pick our bags...More

The second (top) floor is the only floor open so half of the museum was unavailable. Even though they were advertising a special Vermeer Exhibit, there was only one painting of his on display...that said it is a remarkable collection on the second floor and...More

The museum was a bit difficult to figure out - we recommend doing a bit of research before you go. It's not large, just laid out in confusing ways with little English signage. We got a combined, senior ticket - so it's quite affordable.

Part of the Pinakothek collection, this museum emphasis on design and print. This is a specialty museum and you should check if this is for you before you go.

We checked in about an hour before closing time and only had time to check out the paintings and mixed media works on the top floor. The pinakothek has a nice collection of Picassos and a handful of Klees that made the visit worthwhile. Wish...More

I was there in August 2018. It is a very nice museum, especially the area dedicated to interior design with chairs and console from famous architects and designers. The permanent exhibition is not so big (indeed, I expected more), you need a few hours to...More

Yes on the ground floor. It doubles as a cafe and restaurant. The food was very good when I was there.
