Saw as part of a self guided walking tour of the city and it was worth the long walk to get to. Probably more impressive on a sunny day.

I went to the peace memorial by mistake because Trip Advisor mistakenly recorded the geo-location of the surfers in a Google Map where this peace memorial is..and nothing special..just the golden look of a small statue..hope Tripadvisor will correct the error

Nice, (though littter strewn) gardens when we visited. The whole ensemble overlooks the City in a commanding position, and the lower level beneath the steps has gardens and a large fountain. When you go up, the base of the column has some beautiful mosaic allegorical scenes. There is a viewing platform at the top of the column, but this was closed when we visited.

Located right next to the Isar river, this is a pretty cool monument. There is a park close by. The architecture is definitely interesting.

This is a beautiful monument that captures your eyes when walking near the Isar river. The golden angel is atop and looking down over the area to commemorate Germany's victory over France in 1871. The water fountain is remarkable as well.

A very beautiful place for relax to the body and soul. For the first, there are benches and trees that cover them from the sun, and for the second there is a stone observation platform, onto which you climb the stairs and at the foot of which there is a fountain. In the site itself, an arch is cut out from which a stone covered with greenery sticks out. And on the site there is an established column on top of which is a statue of Angel of the piece.
This place can be called a "hidden gem" for a tourist who, making plans for this city, could miss such an interesting place for his eyes.

The Angel of Peace is a part of the monument that stands in tribute to the 25 years of peace after the Franco-German war of 1870/71. The monument consists of an open courtyard with fountain. Two staircases lead to the observation deck and the crowning glory of the monument. The Angel of Peace sits atop a 38 metres high column and built in the Corinthian style. The sculpture is a copy of the Nike of Paeonius and depicts the goddess in descending flight. In her right hand, she extends a laurel leaf in a gesture of peace. In her left, she cups in a much smaller sculpture of Athena to symbolise the victory of peace over war.
This area is much less frequented by tourists and as it's less crowded, there are good opportunities to get some postcard perfect photos.

Not as well-known as the Siegssäule in Berlin, the Angel of Peace celebrates the peace with France, 25 years after the Franco-Prussian war, also faught by Bavarian soldiers.
