I have been a regular visitor to Munich for almost two decades and for one reason or another never made it to Schloss Nymphenburg. SN is a Grand Palace of gargantuan proportions that has something for everyone:

Staff were very friendly at the ticket office. The information is both in German and English, and I believe they do have audioguides in other languages. The grounds are quite pretty so you aren't really into museum/architecture you can roam the grounds for free. There...More
This is a lovely palace - easily accessible from Laim S bahn station. The grounds are lovely - given that it was started in the 1700s - commendable job!
Vision to develop such a masterpiece is truly commendable. Well maintained and enjoyable.

We visited on a really cold day. It is really pretty inside, but keep your coat on as it was not heated. It feels a lot like visiting Versailles. Totally recommend this Palace and the Sleigh/Carriage Exhibit in the other Museum next door.
What a visit and this was not expected a wonderful palace well cared for by the government. What this must of been centuries ago, amazing. Could only imagine. We caught tram 17 from the main station and lakes about a km to the palace

The gardens are free of charge, but for visiting the Place you must pay 6 euro. But there is another ticket. These are 14-day tickets or in German Mehrtagesticket. With 14-day tickets you can visit over forty of the most beautiful sights in Bavaria, except special events for 14 days.
The 14-day tickets are available at the ticket offices in all palaces, castles and other sights (excluding the King's House on the Schachen). You can also buy the tickets at the Infopoint Museen & Schlösser in Bayern (Alter Hof 1, Munich) or at online bookshop. The tickets are not transferable.
