Mostly local animals in the museum but they are presented fantastically. Brilliant displays and loads of weapons on show. Sadly only German signs and narrations. The temporary... read more

If you're a hunter or fisher this museum is for you! The people that work there are extremely nice. The lady gave us a postcard for visiting. None of the stuff is translated in English. But for the most part you don't need it.

Weird museum containing some naff Victorian taxidermy and homoerotic hunting based art. Well worth €2.50

This is an extremely well designed museum for hunters from other countries like myself to enjoy. It takes a hunter to appreciate the subject matter related about the outdoors. It was great to see the hunting practices from some place other than my own. The history of this hunting region was awesome. Come enjoy the local Hunting History my friends.... More

This museum is very central to the Munich market platz. It contains stuffed animals, birds and fish and many artefacts going back hundreds of years. I know that some people may find stuffed animals not to their taste but it is a wonderful way to see what many of the creatures look like up close. There were some really interesting... More

I get very sad when I see dead animals on display as trophies. There are bronzes of animals very life like. This is the way it should be done rather than using actual dead and stuffed animals. Overall interesting but sad.

Visited this museum since I am a hunter. There were some animals stuffed there and some historical guns. Some fish exhibitions as well (not live fish) I had expected the exhibitions to be more varied for such a big museum. You could deposit for a card where you could hear some explanations or presentations on several flatscreens around the museum with... More

I wanted to find this museum because it is the only museum that I know of that has a section on Wolpertingers! I just had to get a stuffed one. This is the only place I know of where I could find one. The museum itself is quite lovely. It is much larger than the outside makes it out to... More

Popped in here on one of our last days in Munich, Looks like the first room had recently had an upgrade as all the exhibits were in glass cases and all had an interactive feature using an audio card u get from reception. Unfortunately even though they had an option to read the instructions in English, none of the displays... More

Mostly local animals in the museum but they are presented fantastically. Brilliant displays and loads of weapons on show. Sadly only German signs and narrations. The temporary display on show at the time was in front of some of the more spectacular rifles which was disappointing. The fishing section was faultless and packed with everything you'd could want to see... More

Aside from the boar statue, the entrance to the Museum of Hunting and Fishing is dwarfed by the commercial plaza surrounding it's entrance, so its a little easy to overlook. But I'm so happy I took the time to investigate this place. It seems like this museum is having a little bit of an identity crisis, trying to force itself... More
