This large city park is very near the Nymphenberg palace complex and is easily reached by public transportation. There is a very large permanent beer garden. There are also lovely meadows strolling, and a nice playground for the kids.

We were staying close by and the host of our hotel mentioned this place. Great suggestion. Inside or outside seating. Great food. The schnitzel was fantastic and of course the beer was good. The sugar pancake with raisins was awesome for dessert.

We loved this place so much near our Inn,Laimer Hof, that we returned x2! Besides the Great Beer and Park Like atmosphere, with picnic tables and small restruants, families having picnics etc.... the chicken on the spit and other German specialties was worth the trip!

We bumped into the Hirschgarten after having visited the Nyhmphenburg Palace. It is said to be one of the biggest beer gardens, if not the biggest, in Munich. We had roasted chicken, definitely not the best dish you can go for (had it lot better...More
