Don't miss the Viktualienmarkt when you visit Munich! We stayed around the corner and loved going there most days to sample the food, drinks and fresh produce. As it was Christmas time, there were lovely stalls with Christmas decorations too.

Want to have a taste of Bavarian food? Go to Viktualienmarkt and find everything here. A bit touristy, of course, but still frequented by the locals. Many street food options in the market. And many restaurants in the streets around it.

I spent a lot of time here because it’s just so great. The food, flowers, tea market, bread...I could go on and on. Go and eat and walk and enjoy!

Great place to buy some local foods and souvenirs. Well worth the walk from Marian Platz to spend 1-2 hours walking around.

Perhaps winter is not the best time to visit but really not much different from any other market. Lots of variety.

Super cute marketplace. There were tons of gifts and food items that would be perfect for just about everyone. We came during Oktoberfest and it wasn't that crowded

I can’t imagine they would be closed on Good Friday or the Saturday before Easter. That being said, it would be best to try to find a Munich tourism website to confirm.
