You definately need to go but quickly. The square is pretty but my family found the glockenspiel under whelming. Its a good place to walk around and get some ice cream or lunch .

If you have nerve seen the glockenspiel then please make sure you do. They have specific times so check when you arrive in Munich.

Had to come to Marienplatz and see it. They had a gay pride festival while we were there. Lots of people and good flowing of beer.

This old town square is definitely worth a visit. We were there over Christmas time and there was a Christmas market that had been setup. There are very impressive old buildings, and there was a great vibe when we were there.

We stayed nearby. Here are shops of all kinds, the central public transportation hub of the city and a short walk to many other attractions, like the Victualianmarkt, which is a great place to shop for a picnic, go to a beer garden and find...More

It's very simple. The main train station is at the city center, just walk out and you'll be there in 5 minutes. There is a direct train from the Munich main station to the Airport. It runs every 15 minutes and take 45... More
