I could see this church in the distance, right down the end of the street from our Hotel in Munich... One day when out walking I took a look and St Lukas is an impressive structure. Built from 1893 to 1896 the church's two eastern bell towers and the almost 64-meter high dome are very prominent features. St Lukas is the largest Protestant church in Munich. The interior is not lavish but very pleasing on the eye. Don't forget to look up and see the church organ, built in 1932 by the G.F. Steinmeyer & Co. I would say you only need like 15 minutes to visit this church and it would be 15 minutes of your time in Munich well spent.

I stumbled upon St. Lukas while wondering along the river Isar. The imposing architecture drew me inside. The entry is right across the charming Alpines Museum. The interior is simple and elegant. I recommend to those happen to be in the neighborhood or need a quiet moment from the hustle and bustle.

Magnificent and very large church on the banks of the Isar river located 0.88 km east from the city centre. It is also the largest protestant church in Munich.

Slightly off from the tourists bitten path, this beautiful church is undoubtedly among the most beautiful in the city, or perhaps better the outside facade and beautiful steeples. Really huge and absolutely a must-see attraction, but only if you have enough time, Munich reserve wonderful surprises, and this is one of those.

The church is majestic situated at the riverside of the Isar. Insdie it is simple but you must see it from the other side of the river or of the dam

Happened upon this as part of a self guided walking tour of the city... Located near several other attractions, this was worth a look.

I had tried to visit St. Luke's Church, known in German as St. Lukas or Lukaskirche, in 2012 but it was closed. This time I visited this impressive church an hour prior to Sunday service and was able to walk around the interior. Built in the 1890s, this is the largest Protestant church in Munich, and it is well maintained. It is located next to the River Isar, about a 15 minute walk from Marienplatz. Persons interested in church architecture will find this church well worth visiting.

While it is not very famous among tourists, this church is very beautiful and drew my attention instantly. The architecture is indeed memorable and interesting. I stood for some time just staring at the church, there's something ambient about it. The building is also located in a very charming place.

The architecture of St. Lukas Church is quite interesting because the church is in the shape of an octagon. The main door is found on Steinsdorfstrasse, beside the river. There is plenty of light in the church but little decoration.

This church is really big. Unforturnatly there are so many buildings built close to the church so its hard to get a good picture of it. I didnt go inside but the looks on the outside was impressive.
