Second visit here- and it never ever disappoints. The village below the castle has several good cafes and restaurants. We took the horse and cart up the mountain side to the castle. There is still a little to walk from the horse stop- and it...More

No one here is helpful-from the car park to info station. Very long wait for everything, disappointing view inside. If you have one day for this please prepare to spend all of it on being angry and offended.

We booked ahead and walked straight in and got our ticket, the line was quite long otherwise. It is a very busy town but able to cater for all of the visitors including parking. I would suggest that you don't see inside both as it...More

We took a tour to Neuschwanstein Castle, along with Linderhof Palace. The climb up is long, so we paid a couple of Euros to take the bus most of the way up. You have to go to Marien Brucke (bridge), as the views from there...More

We opted not to wait around to do the interior tour of the castle as it would have been a few hours. So we paid to take the bus to the top as they said we could walk around and look at the castle from...More

The outside views of this castle are amazing. We stayed at the Schlossrestaurant Neuschwanstein hotel which is located about 100 meters away from castle avoiding the long walk up and down from town. When everyone left after the last tour we had the castle to...More

Although a nice castle to look at from the outside it was so gaudy on the inside!! The madman that built it never stayed in it. Tour guide wasn't very enthusiastic about interesting facts and was over quite quickly. Getting to the bridge was also...More

We traveled here expressly to visit this incredible castle - and it certainly is that! Both the castle and its setting are stunning. But I felt that, being more 'recently' built, it lacked a bit of the history and charm of older castles (I preferred...More

It's advisable to take the bus/horse cart up to the castle as the climb is steep and road not so good. There are various levels inside the castle so stroller will not work.

Yes it's possible but ONLY if you prebook a tour time. And give yourself time to park and get up to the castle too!
