My bride and I had a wonderful weekday hiking adventure surrounded by locals on this beautiful mountain. We took the gondola up the mountain and hiked down (most did the reverse). The trails were impeccably groomed and the view was stupendous. At the foot of...More

Yes, the Zugspitze is higher, but if you go to the top of the Wank and bask in the sun, you feel like you are at the top of the world! €25 round trip on the Bahn (the lift), 25 minutes one way, it will...More

You can go up Wank mountain by cable car. You can get off half way up or continue on the cable car all the way to the top. The weather wasn't great when we went up so the views were limited but it is obvious...More

We love taking the cable car up to this scenic mountaintop, and we enjoy the hiking around the summit.

If, like me you like walk but are not used to a more vigorous hike then the Wank is a great choice. I always choose to take the cable car up which is an experience in itself and to walk down back to the car...More

Wow, fantastic sight. We had clear skies and wonderful weather. Just sat on the mountain top and drank in the beauty. Stunning, a must do on a nice day.

There are two ways up and down this mountain: walking the trail or taking the gondola. I was visiting with a group of friends, and we all hiked up to the half way point. I continued from there on my hike to the top, but...More

I read other reviews and opted for this mountain rather than Zupspitze. Zupspitze was a little pricey for the entire family. It was a wonderful way to spend a few hours. As you go up the mountain, you'll see people walking and hiking up; great...More

The views from this mountain surpassed all others, including Alspita. The cow bells were ringing, the sun was shining, the mountains were impressive. There are several walks on the top and all around this mountain. You can use cable cars for all or part or...More

Great hike. We did the hike half way which was nice then we took the cable cart mid way to the top. It was the best option. It seems the hike from half way till the top is harder.

It's possible, but the snow can start in late October. Depending on fitness level- maybe 4-5 hours. You also have to be aware that in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen valley you are 700 meters in altitude and then going up the... More

Hiya. It was definitely possible to buy one-way tickets when I went. Hikers are encouraged - there is accommodation and cafe, etc.at the top. I would recommend buying your tickets at the bottom though, as not sure if you can... More
