It couldn't be more "Sound of Music" if you visit the mountains in the summer. Excellent lifts (Alpsitzbahn, Kreuzbahn) take you up and down and in-between (hochhalmbahn) for further excursions on foot or just the bahn-ride to enjoy and admire the breathtaking views. So, if...More

What a great place to ski! We watched other skiiers do two 360's and land it perfectly. They have timed runs, look-outs on top of the mountains, gorges to ski between, and even easy cross-county type runs with beautiful views! The kinderland was perfect for...More

We used Garmisch-Partenkirchen as our Base. It served us well. There is plenty to do in town and outside using public transport. We used our hotel free bus pass a lot! We caught the train to Mittenwald and were also able to catch the cog...More

Not a chic place to visit but the most beautiful place on earth. Restaurants everywhere along with grocery stores. Stayed in a hotel but ate local all week. River is amazing and locals were more than happy to help. Will go back
