I went with a group from a military base, the time was a bit rushed, but it was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. I definitely recommend it.

About 10 minutes from Berchestgaden town is a road leading to Konigssee Boat ride. The fee is 17.80 Euros to Salat. We opted for one of the earliest tours. This tour will get very busy. This is a popular destination. The boat goes through the...More

We visited on a rainy day in September which may explain why there seemed to be less tourists. We didn't have to wait long for the boat. We went all the way to the end to Salat and walked out to Obersee. Despite the rain,...More

We must have left the rose tinted glasses at home when we visited here, as we thought it was an awful place. Loads of shops selling tat. Quite a few rubbish restaurants, and big queue to go on the boat. Add to that the extortionate...More

Worth the travel to get there and despite the comments the queues really weren't that bad at lunchtime in high season - maybe us brits are just used to queueing! We did the longer trip and it was worth it to see oberssee too.

We visited this lake on a rather cloudy, wet summer's day. The little town is charming with lots of shops selling stones and and German souvenirs. The boat trip is well worth it, the tour guy speaks German which we didn't understand much of, but...More

Since we visited this place in April, it was raining but we managed to get a boat ride and it was an amazing experience. Kids enjoyed the ride, specially the 'echo effect' demonstration by the boat staff. Enjoyed good food by lake side!

Going to Konigsee you need to take the boat ride. Just walking to the boat station will show you only a corner of the lake, perhaps 5% of it. If you have time the full ticket allows you to get off and back on at...More

Follow the signs. If you have a GPS it will direct you there. We drove from Berchtesgaden and it was I believe half hour drive. Go early, if it is sunny and clear you will enjoy the view. All the best!
