We only stopped at the Documentation center to park and await the bus to the Kehlstein. Parking was ample but it can crowd quickly when the tourist buses arrive. We purchased our bus tickets here. Bus transport was good and the trip up the mountain...More

Had a day off skiing and decided to visit the eagles nest. This was closed during winter so a bit disappointing. You can only get there by bus during the spring and summer months. The museum is worth a visit and costs 3 Euros. This...More

Stunning region, stunning views, beautifull, so well worth the visit. Be carefull, it does tend to become very busy very quickly. Try to get here out of season, or possibly very early.

Firstly, the location of this museum is absolutely stunning. You can immediately see why Hitler chose this place as his retreat. High up in the mountains it is a few miles outside Berchtesgaden so we took a taxi to get to it but I think...More

If you are here with your car and love beautiful countryside, there is no finer place than here. We do this drive every time we visit the area. You need a clear day and find time to stop at one of the many Gasthoffs for...More

This is one of the most comprehensive WWII museums (with a Nazi focus) I have ever visited (and as the wife of a WWII history buff, I have visited a lot). It is small and manageable, and the exhibits are comprehensive and impressive. We do...More

When I was there on July 1st the bunkers were still under going renovations. Unfortunately so were the hotel bunkers at the hotel. I was disappointed too!

The Documentation Obersalzberg is located a couple of miles east of the town of Berchtesgaden on highway 319. The bus stop up to the Eagles Nest is next to the Documentation Obersalzberg.
