I must say that I went in there without any expectation and did not expect to get such a good overview between nature, geology and also how tourism and preserving nature can work out so well. Really well done and really interesting

This National Park Information Center was surprisingly interesting and very well done. We visited here on a rainy day when outdoor activities weren't possible, and we were very pleasantly surprised. Your probably only need an hour or two to see everything, but it was definitely time well spent. The exhibits and the building are very modern, and the information presented... More

It was a rainy day, we had no preconceptions of what we would see. At around 10€ for a family it was money well spent. The staff spoke great English & we're very helpful. The audio guide steers you through the museum but you could just wander if you wanted. It is so cleverly set out, lots of white cut... More

This is the place to go and learn about the native habitat, flora and fauna of the Bavarian Alpine area. There are good exhibits on birds, animals, trees, flowers, lakes, waterfalls, and things that make this a special area. We went there on the only really rainy day we had in Berchtesgaden, and that was nice. I also recommend the... More

This exhibition was very informative. We reached berchesgaden late afternoon and it was a bit rainy. We spent 1hour at the berg house and it was perfect. There are two floors of the exhibition,on the first floor you get the glimpse of the alpen geological history and then the flora and fauna of the forest.the experience is divided into three... More

this is an information centre dedicated to the Alpine region. to be honest, my wife wanted to go- i felt it was too much like a school outing to a boring museum. i was wrong. it is beautifully done, very informative, with lots of interactive features. it covers all aspects of the area, from geography, vegetation, animals, lifestyles of farmers,... The building is very modern and beautifully designed. The exhibitions are very educational and the videos are national geographic quality. All the signage is in German and English which was a welcome change. The museum is very accessible to wheelchairs and strollers.

Very informative and a very well laid out exhibition centre. Certainly a must see attraction and the earlier into your holiday the better. It gives one greater appreciation and insight into the area, its flora and fauna. It thus allows one to choose the points of interest for visiting / exploring beforehand.

This was a great museum that explained the surrounding geology and ecology of the area. The path of museum starts off at the lake and you slowly work your way up to above the tree line. There is even a "cave" that you need a flashlight to explore with and bats hanging from the ceiling. If you have bags, they... More
