About
The Museum celebrates the automobile invented by Carl Benz in 1886: it relates its history and tells its stories, bringing both alive by placing them in the context of technology, day-to-day life, social history and popular culture. More than 160 vehicles of all types are the main protagonists. They range from some of the oldest automobiles ever built to legendary racing cars and futuristic research vehicles. Together with other exhibits, they form the centrepiece of the permanent exhibition covering a total of 16,500 square metres in twelve rooms. This unparalleled world can be discovered on two tours that follow a 'Legend' and 'Collection' narrative.

    Definitely Worth It!!
If you want to spend a very interesting day, go to the Mercedes museum. If you read every sign relating to every vehicle, you will be there all day, which is a good use of time for one who loves automobiles. Many authentic historical vehicles are displayed in an very interesting building.

    Pleasant surprise!
I wasn't particularly interested in this museum. However, since my husband was and he's visited many churches and museums that interested me, I agreed we should go. BUT only for 2 hours. Ha!! We both thoroughly enjoyed the museum and especially the history walls. Easily got our 10,000 steps in while enjoying the user-friendly circular pathway. We appreciated the coat/bag check service.

    The best of Mercedes
I followed my son to this museum, as I have a mild interest in cars and Mercedes. It did not disappoint. Wonderful display of historical and modern cars, to include very notable racing cars. As Stuttgart was about to play a football match down the street, some very notable cars were parked out front, and quickly became an interest of the crowds. We liked the museum shop, and even had a little coffee and cake at the small shop there. Don't miss this if in Stuttgart area.

    Excellent
If you are a car fanatic then this museum is for you! Such an extensive amount of history on the Mercedes Benz brand. But also a timeline as you make your way down the floors on key landmark events in the world which was really interesting.

    Wonderful afternoon trip
The exhibits are well-appointed, with some great interactive displays. The audio-guide was easy to use, just make sure you get one with a full battery. The lift takes you to the top level and you work your way down, each successive level is a different era. Highly enjoyable. We have recommended it to all our friends!

    Fascinating
Fascinating. History of cars and the social history of Germany that goes along with it can easily spend 3 hours there if you wanted to. Small cafe at the end. Photos allowed. (reviews say Porsche museum was very porched focus - MB was more general)

Great place for car and history enthusiasts alike!
We both are history buffs and have enjoyed visits to other car museums and Mercedes Benz did not disappoint. The cover the history of the gas powered engine, Mercedes Benz-Daimler's roles, and general history really well. You start by boarding an elevator to the top floor and then walk your way down through the exhibits. They have some really cool early cars, concept cars and race cars that will set your heart aflutter.

    Amazing museum - highly recommended
We visited Mercedes Museum, Porsche Museum in Stuutgart and BMW Museum in Munich. Mercedes Museum is truly the BEST, it integrated Mersedes Bentz history with World History/Development, it’s quite unique learning experience. You take elevator all the way up and then start walking down, very well designed and organized. We loved it.

A must for petrolheads - even if you're not a Merc fan
Amazing building that looks and feels new, though being a few years old now. Bargain entry price of €12. Possibly the grandest piece of brand marketing on the planet. Excellent portrayal of the story of MB from the earliest days, with wonderful exhibits and wall panels telling not just MB history, but also the wider contemporary world events. Rather a scant mention of MB's total co-operation with the Third Reich, but it was there. It's not perfect. The headsets with commentary are possibly the worst designed I've ever come across (bit like my new E300 coupe which I sold after 8 months) and almost impossible to use if one wears glasses. I gave up after 5 minutes. The layout isn't perfect - it's easy to miss out parts, as they require a detour or retrace of steps. It was also a bit on the warm side, the aircon patently struggling with the 36C outside. It's also not that easy to get to. Staggering there isn't a U-Bahn stop right outside. We took cabs each way, which proved to be pricey. I'm more of a BMW man, but seeing how our Munich friends seemed to have lost all skill to design attractive cars at the moment, I was more benevolent to Merc than I have been in the past.

    Quality museum experience.
Beautifully presented cars and experience. Extensive collection, attempts to add more interactive elements per floor than porsche or bmw museums. Only critique would be the restaurants are very basic. Same top quality as Porsche and BMW experience.

A great car museum. It tells the story of the history of Mercedes in a really well laid out interesting museum. It’s huge but possible to do in a day with the smaller nearby Porsche museum if driving and you are after a car day whilst in Germany. Would highly recommend even if not a total car nut as there is a lot of the wider historical context.

It was fairly busy, but we bought our tickets on line and just used the phone to get in. HUGE building, street parking was easy and free, but get there early! As we were leaving it was getting busier. There was a car show in the parking lot, I don’t know if it is a regular occurrence or not, but there were Benz galore, a Camaro, Ferrari, lots of Porsches too. Great fun! The restaurant/ coffee shop was very good, we spent a bit in the store too. Worth every penny!

Amazing visit through Mercedes’ history and their amazing journey. Cars are fantastic, goes without saying, but the whole concept of having the history of the car maker(s) intertwined with the one of Europe and the World is great. All the models are superb, the cars and also the other vehicles (bus, tracks, …). We were visiting with our 4 years old son and he loved it too.

Stepping into the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart was like stepping into a time capsule of automotive excellence. From the moment I entered, I was swept away by the immersive exhibits and the palpable sense of history that permeated every corner. The seamless fusion of past, present, and future left me in awe of the brand's legacy and innovation. It's not just a museum; it's a journey through time and technology that I'll cherish forever. A must-visit for anyone seeking inspiration and a newfound appreciation for the artistry of engineering.

I'm not a car person and this wearied me after a few hours. But it's well-laid out and very user friendly. My kids were shocked how often it mentioned the war and didn't shy away from the company's involvement with Hitler. I appreciated their candor.
But it's a lot of cars. I liked seeing the very first cars and the celebrity cars though. I think my teens were all a bit burned out by it too. My husband could have stayed there for the entire day, I think.

The museum is awesome. I was delighted. The brand expertise can be seen in every piece shown along its 8 floors. I "traveled" along the brand history and the facts showned in pictures, videos, installations etc etc. I am not a car 'aficionado'. So, I "only" spent 5 hours in there:):):)
