This place is hopping on a market day. There were all sorts of fresh fruits and vegetables. We bought our evening meal here for the ride back on train. They also have food trucks with prepared food. Great place to people watch.

We stopped by here when we were visiting Mannheim. It was on my list of things to see that i found here on trip advisor. The market place was nice and big so that's a plus. But this statue/fountain was kinda so-so. There was no water and the statue itself was surrounded by an ugly fence. Pigeons were sitting all... More

Thsi is a ncie place to see the old architecture of Mannheim before being bombde in WW II. Most of the time it is jsut a pass through palza with nice coffees at summer. Especially I like the days when there is a ferry or marekt day.

One of the more popular areas in the city center, this is were you can find plenty of shops, fast food places or restaurants.

We happen to live right at the Marktplatz and we love it. Three times a week the big farmers market, occationally a demonstration, DSDS auditions right at our doorstep, and all the restaurants, shops, bar you ever need just a stone throw away.

I was amazed to discover that there is no elegance in the area, The street has many bazaar shops, restaurants but nothing from the European style I expected the city to have such I have found in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich or Heidelberg in Germany

Town center and market place in Mannheim. Nearby paradeplatz, stadthaus and rathaus. This square is where you will find places to eat, shops and has a good nightlife too

We were brought here by German relatives and I was really impressed. There is a wide range of stores and we visited during a sale period so we found some great bargains. We will be back when we visit again!
