If staying in the center of Karlsruhe and using public transport, one will regularly go through the Europaplatz, a hub for the city's tramway network in the middle of the Kaiserstrasse, Karlsruhe's main street, which has been gradually pedestrianized in the 1970/80s. With the cars now banned, the heavy tramway traffic remained and this is the reason, why the Europaplatz is a construction site at the moment, since all public transport should now go underground. The only interesting and attractive building at the Europaplatz is the neoclassical and neobaroque sandstone structure from the early 20th century, which once served as the city's Hauptpostamt, the main post office, but which now has been turned into a big shopping mall, the 'Postgalerie'. If the facade has been maintained, inside everything is completely modern with shops on several floors.

Very average shopping mall. The surrounding area is nice and the building architecture good. Okay to walk around but not a place I would head to
