We actually ended up here because we had some down time, not because we specifically sought it out. I'm so glad we did! It's a smallish museum, and with the audioguide, you go through the history of the area, from Roman times (some interesting archaeological...More

This is one of the better museums we visited while in Germany. This is a large collection but a 1 1/2 hour time investment will leave you with the feeling that you've covered what you wanted to see. Something for everyone!

A large collection of art, sculptures, & various historical items. Displays were well organized. Enjoyed the archaeology section very much. Architecture of building is beautiful. Staff were helpful and friendly. A nice way to spend a rainy afternoon. Centrally located in Altstade.

No parking directly around the museum, it is pedestrianised. Parking further out is available and it is easy to walk.
