If, like us, your main reason for doing the walk is to take lovely panoramic photos of Heidelberg, be warned: take your photos at any opportunity you get! While the walk has many viewing platforms and seating areas to "admire the view", the majority of...More

Clean and lean but it is just an average garden at the end of this lonely street (or is it a lane?) In some parts of the lane/garden, you can see the River Neckar. The view was quite nice and you can sometimes see the...More

Unfortunately we had only half an hour to explore this great place. The view of the Old City and the castle is perfect. People walk and run there. I really want to come back to spend there several hours.

I wanted to see more of the city but did not want to stand in line or be in heavy crowds so this was perfect. There are very nice views of the old town with the castle, church & bridge.

Can't beat the view, but be prepared for some steep parts at the start (Western edge) and down the optional shortcut back to the city (at Alte Bruecke) called Schlangenweg. Functional footwear (like sneakers) is highly recommended.

We enjoyed a sunny but fairly cool late summer day as we walked up to and down the Philsopher's Way. The views over the river and the city were beautiful and we very much enjoyed the experience.
