If you are interested in health and the history of medicine you are at a great place. A good collection of inventory's of old pharmacies is well worth seeing. Also the lab is very nice, good collection of herbs.

Found this place in the castle very interesting. A few more English explanations of what things were wouldn't go a miss. However the main sections were in English so you knew the basics and played guess what this does with the rest!

Tucked away in the courtyard of the Schloss is the entrance to the museum. We didn't realise it would be so large and had to slightly rush towards the end to get to our guided tour! I'd say you should allow for about 45 minutes to wander around this interesting museum. Much of the information is provided in both German... More

This museum is inside of the castle grounds and is fascinating. I loved seeing information on the responsibilities of early apothecaries and the sources of the medicines that they compounded.

As a medical professional my opinion may be skewed but I LOVED this place. Major information placards are in German and English, though smaller descriptors are only in German. Easily accessible in the schloss and super interesting. Gift shop is super cute. Would call this a do not miss attraction!

This is a really small museum with a very small and nearly unseen entrance. I actually don't know why it is placed specifically in the Heidelberg Castle. The part of smelling the different kinds of teas was exciting and nice. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Entrance to this museum is included in your ticket to the caste grounds. I did not have high expectations but was surpraised. The museum began with information on medicines from ancient times and covered all the ancient civilizations. It continues with information on pharmacies of the past few hundred years with a couple of complete pharmacies on display

I work in a chemistry lab with pharmaceuticals, so I knew I had to visit this museum. I loved all of the old medicine bottles and lab equipment. It's so interesting learning how they used to run a lab and what kind of medicines they used to use. Some rated this poorly because they weren't interested in apothecaries, so why... More
