We walked up to the castle from the train station. It was quite a walk, but definitely doable. The castle grounds are beautiful and we had a wonderful time walking around. While the caste is amazing, don't forget to turn around and check out the...More

Think of the castle as a ruin and you won't be disappointed. The buildings are not destroyed, but they have been left uninhabited too long. The view from the terraces is excellent. The exhibitions inside are of high quality. Make sure you see them all....More

We visited it by night and the scenery was beautiful. Better if you get a guided tour, because there are many stories to learn. I'd like to come back to visit it with the daylight.

Looks sensational at night all lit upin its glory. A good walk to the base, though looks better from a distance, such as the bridge.

Nice experience to climb the castle. It gives a good view of the town including old and new buildings, and river Rhine's tributary. Some part of the castle is in ruins.

Find great views of the Heidelberg while discovering the eccentricities of the area's aristocratic and militaristic past. We had a tour guide which was very helpful in seeing the area. Don't miss the huge wine barrel.

This castle destroyed by french king's attack is still tremendous. It locates atop of a hill and gives exceptional view to the old city of Heidelberg.

Great views across the old town. Easy to get to with good access to town centre. Recommend a trip. Ticket includes funicular. Cafe at top but we didn't go in.
