Really cool castle, worth a visit.

We loved walking around and exploring the castle. It was a very cold day, but this is not to be missed. The view from the castle is stunning as well.

During this visit you can ride a lift up the mountain, tour the castle yourself or go on a guided tour. You will see more if you take the guided tour. At the top of the mountain there are hiking trails. The castle overlooks the city which is nice. There is a lot you can see outside without buying a... More

The castle in se is very nice, I particularly loved the gardens. If you go in autumn it's so charming, with hundreds of shade of red, yellow, orange and green. But actually the best part of this place is the view of Heidelberg. The castle, like everywhere in Germany, is on the top of the hill, so you can see... More

This is the most important attraction in Heidelberg. You can take the external tour which includes the Pharmacy(Apotheke) and all the corridors outside the building. The other option is a guided tour in english or german which is the most complete one as it shows the indoors of the castle recreated as before it was bombarded by USA during last... More

We walked up to the Castle garden, and walked out to the end of the balcony, to experience the view of Heidelberg and the river Necker below. This is all free, but there is a small charge if you want to enter the castle. We paid the fee which included a trip up to the second station in the funicular,... More

You can't get a better view of the city from this castle. It features a unique perspective of historic Germany, and a wonderful nature walk to the location. Check out the large casket of ale that is gravity fed to the dining halls! It is a perfect spot for a day activity.

Recently my wife and I visited the ruins and restored sections of the Heidelberg castle. We took a guided tour and thoroughly enjoyed the information provided by our guide. The tour was only an hour or so, but gave a brief and very interesting look in to history of the castle.

This is a really old yet very well preserved century castle. We took an audio tour (~1h) to guide us through all the aspects of it. You may still read the signs otherwise. First, there's a beautiful garden to its right which although it's not the same as before, used to hold one of world wonders title. You may walk... More

This place offers a wonderful view of the town of Heidelberg, as well as of the river Neckar. You can get up there by a funicular. It is a worthwhile excursion.
