Visited during the Christmas Markets. The Old Town was full of charm, shopping, and quality restaurants. Watch out for students on bicycles.

The Alstadt is simply a very old historic place, worth going at least one, if you happen to be tourist in Heidelburg. You will see lots of tourists and local population during the day time.

It is fascinating to wander through the cobblestone street on your way to the castle. When we reached there around 2pm, it was quite quiet and its nice to take a stroll.
