One of those have to do if in Germany

Go check out the forest when in Germany. See a cuckoo clock and eat some black forest cake. There is a reason this is so popular

Had high expectations of this road having researched and read about it, it was really hard to find the entrance to the high road and took no time at all to get to the other end, we had no views as all we could see was trees so very dissapointed.

We drove around the Black Forest on our rental car for 3 days in the middle of September. It was terrific fun. Make sure you do get a GPS that works in English. It was crucial to the success of our vacation in the Black Forest. We stayed at the Hotel Lagenwaldsee in Freudenstadt. A very nice hotel, undergoing some... More

Driving from Baden Baden to Innsbruck on a Friday morning, it would have been mad not to take this road. Simply amazing views, have the camera ready. Lots of bends, and yes there are speed limits!

We were staying in the black forest and drove this road over several days. Photographs do not do the views you experience justice.

The drive is incredible from Freudenstadt to Baden-Baden. An easy day trip from Stuttgart through lots of tiny, picturesque villages and the larger city of Freudenstadt. When you reach the Hochstrasse on the other side of Freudenstadt you will immediately want to relish the views. On either side of the road the scenery is spectacular. France/Germany to one side and... More

Driving this road is a highlight of the Black Forest. This is a beautiful forest, with superb mountain views. Driving is as important as hiking to get a real feel for this pristine area.

This is a beautiful place to visit either by car or hired taxi. The trees are tall firs with distinctive black color. Our visit was brief and would have liked an opportunity to spend more time.

We definitely recommend this route if you are visiting the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) in Germany . It offers breathtaking views !! You can view the real beauty of Europe along this route . We visited in August'15 . The weather was perfect & we drove along the entire route , stopped our car at several places for taking pictures .
