It should be noted that most of what you'll see is a reconstruction, but it's still worth seeing. The reconstruction is based on the earlier excavations and there are some authentic bits to see. Overall it'll give you the idea of the massive seating built...More

We visited Vienne for 3 days specifically in order to attend the Vienne Jazz Festival. The main performances are held in the Roman Theatre which is 2000 years old and today holds about 7000 people (that’s what we were told, anyway). The theatre is amazing,...More

Amazing that this theater, which seats many thousands, is still in use today. Best view of it is from Pipet, above it. Annual jazz festival is held here. Also cool buildings nearby w paintings of famous folks(moliere, Myles Davis, Didi Brigewater)

This site is amazing, but requires more an interpretation. An audio guide or signs would go a long way to increasing visitor understanding of the site. This theatre also houses the annual Jazz Festival. If you're lucky, you can hear the groups rehearse and do...More

We went to see Hans Zimmer here and it was brilliant. We were lucky that the rain and hail stones stopped just as the show started and it stayed a lot cooler and manageable for the evening. We went to the help desk the day...More

A well preserved Roman theater that is in use today for jazz concerts. We took a tourist train to the top of the hill.

Excellent question. I recommend that you contact the venue directly and see if the reserve by row or if it is first come, first served. I would call them, 04 74 78 87 87 and ask.
