Most people take the special metro to the top, but the climb is fun and not that hard. You'll be accompanied by lizards all the way. And you'll have a nice workout. The view is amazing and all the top things to do are nearby.

There are some great views of the city on top of this hill at the cable car station. You can the stroll to the amphitheatre ruins and go downhill though a rose garden. It's a pleasant experience

The view is lovely. I made it up for sunset. The gardens/park below that you hike through is also nice but as it was getting dark, I rushed it a bit.

Take the incline from the Vieux Lyon, get a glimpse of the Basilica, stroll to the Roman amphitheaters (there are 2!), visit the Gallo-Roman museum and its great archeological collection, then walk back down thru old Renaissance streets -or take the 2nd incline.
