Lined with eateries, attractions to visit and beautiful streetscapes hosting lovely buildings, it makes for a delightful stroll along.

Beginning at the Cathedral we took in many of the attractions during a charming amble. Les Traboules du Vieux Lyon were first up, atmospheric and definitely worth some time.

Fascinating museums included the fascinating Le Petit Musée de Guignol and absorbing Musée Cinéma et Miniature.

Musicians also featured, including a talented harpist that we rewarded. And later a jazz band that likewise was appreciated.

We walked the length of Rue Saint-Jean and had a lovely time while doing so. There are many cafes, and all types of stores in the street which can become extremely busy at times. The street takes its name from the Cathedrale Saint Jean Baptiste which is located at one end of the street. It's definitely an area worth spending some time in.

This Iconic street of Vieux Lyon begins in the square in front of Saint-Jean Cathedral and runs north to connect with Place du Change. It is one of the most characteristic streets of Old Lyon where you will find restaurants & cafes, bars, local produce shops, small museums, souvenir shops, pastry & sweets shops, and silk shops. Some shops serve residents but most are for the masses of gullible tourists. It is a pedestrian-only street and you should find at least two traboules (secret passages), including the longest in the city that you can visit. It is paved with cobblestone, so wear comfortable walking shoes and avoid heels. Vieux Lyon is beautiful and charming and strolling Rue Saint-Jean in the old city should not be missed.
