Memories can be funny but also hurtful.... It's very important to have some places that help us NOT to forget what exactly happened to our countries (fotos, storical contexts, witnesses etc). This place is wonderful for that and I appreciate very much their efforts to make it interesting and detailed.... everybody speaks about the Normandie, Paris or many other famous... More

Thought we would just drop in for an hour...ended up spending three hours there. Fascinating history of the French resistance going way back before World War II and detailing a lot about the individuals who helped save many Jewish residents and others as well.

A very interesting overview of resistance activity in the Grenoble region. The English exhibit blurbs were kind of tiny and hard to read but helpful. Some areas were quite atmospheric and moving.

Quentin Tarantino decided to create a movie about it. Many people lost their lives for it. Many thanks given to those people. French Resistance. Visit this museum.

As WWII and the Nazi aggression fade from memory in the US, it is important for Americans that visit Grenoble to experience the narrative this moving museum provides. With text in several languages, it briefly recounts both the history of the Vichy regime and the Resistance efforts in and around Grenoble. It then includes the Nazi effort to identify, round... A really interesting museum - there was a special exhibition of First World War that didn't have English translations but all the rest did. Gave a very good idea of what it must have been like to be French and occupied during WW2

not worth a visit if you already have knowledge of the résistance and deportation. Basically only some old photos and copies of some documents but no first hand material or anything to cause the visitor to somehow experience what those times were like.
